My name is April Batterman, born in Lubbock, TX, but I mostly grew up in the surrounding suburbs of Atlanta. I’ve always been artistic and pursued a wide variety of mediums, from painting, woodworking, to drawing, and even apprenticed for tattooing back in 2009. My grandfather was a woodworker and he introduced me to the craft at a young age. I consider myself a folk artist because I never had any formal training in woodworking other than the few things that were passed down to me from my grandfather. I have been consistently creating cutouts and aged household items since 2024. You can see some of my work at Rainy Day Revival in Atlanta, GA.
